Soap and Glory Smoothie Star Body Lotion.

Soap and Glory Smoothie Star Body Lotion- Boots £10 (link here)

Soap and Glory products have always been a firm favourite of mine so when my current body lotion ran out I thought I'd treat myself. I chose the Smoothie Star body lotion as it claimed to have an almond, oat and brown sugar scent which to me sounded delicious (it's a shame you can't eat it) There always seems to be a deal on Soap and Glory products so I also picked up a shower gel which I'm yet to try.

The lotion itself is quite thick and I was worried it may take ages to sink into my skin, but to my surprise once I'd applied it, the lotion had dried within around 30 seconds (no more flapping my arms around in an attempt to dry them for me!) it made my skin feel silky soft and got rid of any dry patches I had. However my favourite part of this product is of course the scent, it reminds me of flapjack! I think this may be my favourite Soap and Glory scent, which is a bold statement for me to make seen as I had a long love affair with the Sugar Crush products.

What is your favourite Soap and Glory Product?

Top 3 Autumn/Winter Lipsticks.

Left to right: Rimmel Kate Moss lasting finish lipstick in 107, Rimmel Apocalips in Celestial and Rimmel Kate Moss lasting finish lipstick in 05

Rimmel Kate Moss lasting finish lipstick in 05 £5.49

Rimmel Apocalips in Celestial £6.49

Rimmel Kate Moss lasting finish lipstick in 107 £5.49

During the colder months the bright lipsticks are left unloved and the neutral pinks and dark reds/purples come out to play and these three are definitely the ones that I know I will reach for the most. When it came to writing this post I realised they were all Rimmel products (oops) but they are a great quality with a small price tag!

The Rimmel Kate Moss lipstick in 05 is a dark plum/pink colour that looks quite natural when applied. It has a staying power of around 3/4 hours and is quite moisturising on my lips. In the colder months my lips become quite dry, this lipstick keeps my lips moisturised and does not leave them feeling dry at all.

Many people went crazy over the Rimmel Apocalips in general when they first came out so of course I had to give them a try. I bought the shade Celestial as it is a classic pink shade that would work for everyday looks. Although I did not like the formula at first (it felt weird on my lips) I have now become used to it. The formula is great on days when my lips are extremely dry as the gloss does not cling to the dry patches on my lips.

My favourite Autumn shade is definitely the Rimmel Kate Moss lipstick in 107 the berry red shade is perfect for the colder months and I think it suits my pale skin tone perfectly! The high pigmentation makes this product easy to use as with one application the lipstick is even across your lips and you're ready to go, it also has an excellent staying power of around 5 hours which is great when you're lazy at reapplying!

Maybelline 24hr colour tattoo in Metallic Pomegranate.

Maybelline 24hr colour tattoo in Metallic Pomegranate £4.99 in Boots/Superdrug

In the blogging world the Maybelline colour tattoo eyeshadows are placed on an extremely high pedestal by most. After purchasing my first little pot a couple of months ago I thought it was time to try another one out, the one that caught my eye the most was Metallic Pomegranate as the dark burgundy shade was something that I would have never considered before.

I have to say that I am definitely head over heels in love with this colour, it looks beautiful all over the eye as pictured above or paired with a brown eyeshadow to create a smoky eye. The only tiny criticism I have with this product is that it does tend to crease after a couple of hours, although this may not be the case for everyone. But overall I know that this colour will be my go to during these colder months.

Other products used: L'Oreal skin perfection BB cream, Bourjois healthy mix concealer, Collection pressed powder, Collection fast stroke eyeliner, MUA pro brow ultimate eyebrow kit, Benefit they're real mascara, Nars blush in orgasm and Rimmel Kate Moss lasting finish lipstick in 05.

August Favourites.

Top: Dexter.
Bottom L-R: MAC Vegas Volt, L'Oreal Skin Perfection BB Cream in Fair, Barry M Gelly Nail Paints in Greenberry and Blue Grape and Bath and Body Works Warm Vanilla Sugar body lotion.

I'll start with my main love of this month and many others: Dexter! I seriously can't get enough of this TV series (I'm currently watching it while typing this blog post) although I jumped on the bandwagon rather late as the final season is airing as we speak. After watching the first season in just under two days, I knew this was a love like no other. Basically Dexter is a blood splatter analyst who is kills serial killers that escaped justice. If you like any type of thriller or crime shows I highly recommend it!

Now onto the beauty items! I bought Vegas Volt in the airport on the way to Florida after pining after it for months, and I have to say I think this may be my favourite EVER lipstick- which is quite a statement to make. MAC describe the colour to be a 'full power coral' and I would agree, it has a great staying power and would look amazing on many skin tones.

The L'Oreal BB cream was my holy grail item whilst in Florida, I'd never tried a BB cream before this one so was unsure what to expect. This BB cream is a light coverage but gives a lovely dewy finish when applied and it gave my skin a 'glow' that my regular foundation doesn't, as well as all this the BB cream also has SPF 25 and in the crazy heat of Florida this protected my face and I didn't burn once.

Barry M has always been a favourite brand of nail polish, it's cheap and has a great collection of colours. My two favourite that I've purchased this month are from the Gelly range in greenberry and blue grape. I wasn't too keen on the Gelly range at first but after using these nail polishes all month I've come to love the high shine the polish gives off when dry. Both colours are extremely bright and a great way to branch out of the nude nails, they also last up to a week without chipping which for me is a miracle.

My final favourite for this month was a cheeky purchase whilst shopping in Florida. I'd heard so many great things about Bath and Body Works so when I found a store in the Florida Mall, I was like a kid in a sweet shop! I ended up limiting myself to two body lotions and a shower gel, but out of these three the Warm Vanilla Sugar body lotion is definitely the best. It has such a gorgeous scent that's true to name and I find that it lingers on my skin for hours after application and also dries really quickly which is also a bonus!

What were your favorites this month? What TV series have you been hooked to?
